Guy R. Cousins, LCSW, LADC, CCS

Guy has been in the behavioral health field since 1983. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Maine at Fort Kent & a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Dundee, Dundee, Scotland. He has lived and practiced in Italy, Scotland & the US in school based, community based, residential, and hospital based services working with adults, children, adolescents, couples & families.
He is the former Director of the State of Maine Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services and served as the Single State Authority for Substance Abuse Services and Mental Health Services. Guy is currently a full time Senior Lecturer at the University of Maine at Augusta teaching Addictions & Mental Health Counseling. He is also the Director of the Medical Professionals Health Program assisting medical professionals whose practice may be affected by mental health and substance use issues. Guy is active in the community serving on various Boards and Commissions and coaches’ high school tennis at a local school.
