Course Description:
Access to Care and Health Equity in the Dental Office by Amanda Berthiaume, MsDH, RDH, CDA, FADHA: This course addresses public health, clinical dental hygiene, patient management, and emerging technologies by examining access-to-care challenges and their impact on oral health outcomes. Participants will apply risk-based prevention strategies, integrate teledentistry and minimally invasive approaches, and develop patient-centered care plans that consider social determinants of health. The course also explores Maine-specific policy considerations and the hygienist’s role in advocacy and community outreach.
