Troy Cutler, RN, CIC, Infection Preventionist, Maine General Medical Center.

Cutler has been a nurse since 1995, working in various clinical settings from long-term care, acute care and currently as the supervisor of infection prevention at MaineGeneral Medical Center for the last 8 years.  Troy became board certified in infection prevention initially in 2013 and renewed his board certification in 2018.  The world of infection prevention has changed dramatically in the last decade becoming one of the most frequently cited violations by numerous regulating bodies nationally.  The primary focus of infection prevention is to educate staff and patients on the risks of infection while demonstrating techniques to mitigate those risks.  Being an infection prevention nurse is by far the most rewarding part of Troy’s career to date.  Troy has no financial or ethical disclosures to make for this presentation.


Stacey Singleton, CDA, EFDA, Dental Practice Administrator has been a dental assistant for 15 years, Stacey resides in Acton, Maine, with her husband and daughter. A graduate of Hesser College with an associate’s degree in Business Administration, she obtained her CDA credential from the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) in 1997. In June, 2012 received her Expanded Functions license in the state of Maine from York County Community College. Her journey has ranged from orthodontics, to cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery, but she has found pediatric dentistry to hold a special place in her heart. She is currently employed with York County Pediatric Dentistry, where her team members state she wears many hats and balances them all nicely.


Michael Royer, is the president and managing partner of Berry Talbot Royer. He has over 25 years of accounting experience working at the international accounting firm Arthur Anderson and Co., a "Big 8" accounting firm, as well as at Reliant Energy, a Fortune 500 company, based in Houston Texas. Currently, he is in charge of the corporate and individual tax and accounting team at Berry Talbot Royer. Michael is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Society of Tax Professionals. He has served on several nonprofit boards and business advisory boards. Michael served on the boards of Kennebec Technologies, Cheverus High School and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine, and the Children’s Museum of Maine.

Dr Peter Vellis was raised in Brooklyn, NY, where he attended Adelphi University and received a BS in Biology, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1996. He attended Columbia University College of Physician and Surgeons, graduating in 2000 with the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery.


He was commissioned in the United States Navy Dental Corps as a Lieutenant and completed a General Practice Residency at Great Lakes Naval Hospital in Illinois. He completed a two year tour as Dental Department Head on the supply ship USS Detroit, home ported in Earle NJ in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Dr. Vellis was selected by the Navy to attend an oral surgery training program.
