Course Description: 

Our overall wellness is key to thriving in our personal and professional lives. Our ability to be resilient despite all of the challenges and adverse experiences we have are key in our overall and long-term wellness. Participants will have the ability to walk away from the workshop with greater insight into their wellness and how to utilize their challenges to build resilience moving forward.

  • Explore what individual wellness can be in both their personal and professional lives.

  • Identify skills and strengths that can be utilized in both at home and at work.

  • Discover the areas that are most challenging.

  • Promote using a solutions oriented approach addressing a “Yours, Mine, and Ours” perspective.

Guy R. Cousins, LCSW, LADC, CCS

Guy Cousins is the Director of the MPHP and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Maine at Augusta. He is the former Director of the Maine Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services. He is the former Vice Chair and Complaint Officer of the Board of Alcohol & Drug Counselors. Guy serves on the Governor’s Substance Use Disorder Services Commission and is a Board Member of the Maine Council on Problem Gambling
