We are excited to announce the opening of registration for the Maine Dental Association Annual Convention, which will be held at the Harborside Hotel in Bar Harbor from June 13th to June 15th.

 

I have many fond memories of attending the MDA Annual Convention with my parents, sister, and brother, as we attended every year. I remember earning my “Molar Marathon” t-shirt in the fun run/walk, swimming in the pool while my dad attended continuing education lectures, and then dressing up for the President’s Dinner. My parents always bought raffle tickets, but there was one year that my ten-year-old brother insisted on buying his own $1 raffle ticket… and he proceeded to win a bicycle! When I was 14, I remember singing “From a Distance” at Karaoke night during the President’s Dinner.  Many years later, I joined the MDA's own band The Mental Block and had a wonderful time getting to know fellow dental colleagues /musicians while rehearsing and performing for the 2015 Annual Convention.

 

As officers going through the chairs, Norma, Adam, and I have had many discussions about how to make the annual convention the best that it can be. The common response from all of us: it needs to be appealing and inclusive to all.  While we know that not everyone may choose to do so, it is our hope that if you are looking to bring your staff and your family, you will find that there is something for everyone.  We have a variety of quality CE courses, a focus on wellness (with yoga!), and even a Kid's Convention that will appeal to all ages – from toddlers to Swifties.  We can’t wait to connect with all of you in breathtaking Bar Harbor!
