2026 Call for Proposals - Breakout Sessions

The Maine Dental Association (MDA) seeks to offer an Annual Convention which promotes the mission to support members in achieving excellence in dentistry. MDA is an approved provider of continuing education units of the American Dental Association Continuing Education Recognition Program (CERP) standards. As such, we are seeking quality educational sessions that raise the level of professionalism our dentist members and partners have come to expect.
Through the Annual Convention, we hope to:

engage member dentist and their work teams as lifelong learners and thoughtful practitioners,

facilitate integrative learning that improves practice and contributes to capacity building,

convene members, organizations, business partners, and oral health professionals to establish productive working relationships,

leverage our collective expertise to advance the participation of the membership in contributing to the oral health landscape in Maine.
Objectives for the Annual Convention
This year, MDA is only seeking Call-for-Proposals for breakout sessions. Two sessions each day of the convention will be scheduled. These sessions must align with the theme of the convention: Restoration of the Mouth & Mind.
Content Area
This year, MDA is looking for a specific content area for breakout sessions. Please only submit workshop sessions for:

Wellness
-
Mindfulness
-
Reducing burnout or professional frustrations
-
Effective communication or
-
Developing Resiliency within a professional setting.
Disclaimers
Proposals will not be reviewed if the above items are not adhered to. Please identify each of the five requested areas in your proposal (you may consider bolding text, underlining, etc. to draw the reader’s attention to these categories). Do not submit a full speaker catalog for review; identify which session is being submitted for this specific event.
Presentation style definitions:

Lecture- theater or classroom style, including AV placement.

Hands-On- classroom style, each participant must have actual hands-on experience with equipment, supplies, etc., for more than 50% of the presentation.

Workshop- classroom or theater style, the speaker demonstrates technique/procedure while attendees observe or receive a workbook to use throughout the presentation.
The MDA assigns Continuing Education Credits (unless otherwise noted) per CERP Regulations and the Maine Board of Dental Practice Rules. Eligible presentations receive one credit per hour (not including breaks). The speaker’s resume, CV, and session information will be requested if selected to present at the convention for review and CE determination.
The total number of lectures selected will not exceed (5) five. MDA and the Continuing Education Events Committee reserve the right to select fewer lectures or request proposals that meet an identified educational objective determined by the Committee.
MDA will notify applicants of review results no later than January 15, 2026. After notification, additional information may be requested before any contract agreement is issued.
